Donate Books and Other Materials: The library gratefully accepts donations of gently used books and DVDs. unfortunately, we cannot use textbooks, magazines, video tapes, or encyclopedias. We cannot take materials that are dirty, moldy, insect infested, or damaged. Materials will either be used in the collection, passed on to other organzations, or sold to generate income for the library. Materials may be discarded if they cannot be used or sold. You can bring donations to the Customer Service Desk. If you have a large amount of materials please call before coming down so we can help you when you arrive.
Donate Computers, Furniture, and Equipment: Donations of computers and other durable goods are considered on a case by case basis. Generally we can only use computers that are less than two years old and the acceptance of other items depends on library need. Before donating please call the library and ask for Phillip to discuss your donation.
Donate Local History and Genealogy Materials or Artifacts: Due to space limitations and the lack of the ability to properly care for some delicate items all such materials and artifacts are considred on a case by case basis. Please call the library and ask for Traci to dicuss your potential donation.
Donate Works of Art: Donations of works of art are considered on a case by case basis. Please call the library and ask for the Director to discuss your potential donation.
Donate Funds: Donations of funds is always appreciated. You may donate any amount and you may designate your donation to be used in specifc ways. Many people donate money to purchase books in honor or memorial of friends and loved ones. You may mail your donations to the library, along with your written insructions, or you may give your donations to the staff at Customer Service. They have a form you can fill out for memorials and they can take credit cards as well as cash and checks.
Land, Large Gifts, and More: Please call the library amd speak to the Director if you are considering a large donation, a donation of real property, or donations other itmes not covered here. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
Donations may have tax implications: Please contact your tax advisor for details. Upon request the library will give receipts indicating the type and amount of donations but the library cannot provide valuations.
