The Board of the Friends invites the input of our general members at meetings held the third Wednesday of each month. Please contact the library to confirm this meeting date each month as conflicts may arise that result in moving the meeting to another date.
The Friends of the library contribute more than just books to the library. We hold an annual event or letter campaign to raise funds for things the library needs. In addition to books, examples include:
The 2015 letter campaign resulted in resulting in a donation to purchase 30 e-Books and 97 hardback books. Our "Library on the Lawn" event in April 2016 resulted in a donation of $4,500 to the Discover Space exhibit.
We invite new ideas from our library patrons by attending our monthly meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:00 pm at the library. We also invite you to send ideas via email to friendsofbraswelllibrary@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
Mission
The Friends of Braswell Memorial Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the library. The Friends mission is to maintain an association of persons interested in Braswell Memorial Library; to focus public attention on the library; to stimulate the use of the library's resources and services; to receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library and to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community.
